When I think of 1967 I think of psychedelia, hippies, flower power, LSD. This record came out that year – the Summer of Love – but it’s nothing like that.

Because while that was going in in San Francisco, music like this was coming out of Detroit.

It’s not a Motown number, it’s from Popcorn Wylie’s competing SoulHawk stable.

Written by Wylie and his lyrical partner Tony Hester, it’s a Northern Soul classic.
