I’ve never heard of Betsy Legg before and I bet you haven’t either. This eponymous album – “Betsy” – is, as far as I know, her only record.

It’s a collection of folky covers recorded in Atlanta, Georgia, and released in 1971 by BCG Records.

Betsy, who I’m guessing from her voice and​ her look was inspired by Joan Baez, plays acoustic guitar and sings.

Her accompanists are Pam Rose on lead guitar and bass guitarist Laymon Jackson.

The album contains songs written by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, John Denver, Kris Kristofferson, Tim Hardin, Judy Collins… and this one penned by Gordon Lightfoot.
