Sometimes music can soothe the soul and the Polish composer Michal Janaszek somehow reflects the sorrows of the world while simultaneously trying to take them away.

This piece is for my oldest and best friend Ben Buchanan who is very ill but facing his situation not only with fortitude but with a calm nobility that impresses me every time I see him.

It’s too much to hope that these sorrowful strings and ethereal vocals with electronic glitches will make him well again but I do hope that it can make him feel the same sense of calm I feel when I listen to it.
