This one is properly obscure, though you may well recognise the tune as Dawn Penn’s vintage reggae classic No No No.

As far as I can tell The Me’s (whose apostrophe I can forgive in this instance) only released this solitary single, with No No No on one side and this amusingly titled response – Oui Oui Oui – on the other.

Both, as far as I can establish, are played by a pair of Parisians, Réka Csiszér, a Hungarian-Austrian jazz singer who has a band called The Pussywarmers, and Lalla Morte, a Thai-Vietnamese burlesque performer.

The pair of them sing in the style of Jane Birkin, backed by breathy sighs supplied by Nene from a Berlin band called Movie Star Junkies, and Simone from The Pussywarmers, with a cheap electronic keyboard supplying the music.

Sounds terrible, I know, but I have a weakness for cod-reggae and I like it. And 494 other YouTube viewers agree.
