The Brian Jonestown Massacre could always have found a career as a Velvet Underground tribute band if things hadn’t worked out for them. Thankfully they did.

This trancelike Velvets-adjacent song ia a lazy, hazy, woozy, dreamy masterpiece of lovelorn romance. I could listen to it for ever.

It blends beutifully with the found footage of the Blackpool illuminations that Anton Newcombe sourced from YouTube, seeking (and getting) permission from the artist.

To be fair, nearly every song by the BJM is heavily influenced by the Velvet Underground – and they are all the better for that.

Written by Anton Newcombe and Travis Thelkel, it’s taken from their album Methodrone: a suitably narcotic title for a characteristically narcotic tune.
