I don’t know much about Dee Edwards, who sang this Northern Soul gem. It’s a B-side but I prefer it to the A-side, Tired Of Staying Home.
It came out in 1962 on Tuba Records in Detroit, a label owned by Marvin M Jacobs.
It’s written by studio owner Mike Hanks, and Rudy Robinson, keyboard player, arranger and musical director of Jacobs’ D-Town Records.
The third named composer, Cara Bell, has long been thought to be an imaginary nom-de-plume invented by Hanks to get more songwriting royalties.
