Don Carlos – From Creation

29th September 1984 · Uncategorised

A mellow tune for a sunny afternoon by Don Carlos, original lead singer of Black Uhuru, the trio he formed in 1973 with friends Rudolph Dennis and Duckie Simpson.

Carlos  left a year later after just one single, to be replaced by Michael Rose, and later Junior Reid, but rejoined them in 1990.

This tune comes from his solo career, which was not especially distinguished (though he restored Black Uhuru’s fortunes when he rejoined) and I especially like the laid-back trance-like dub.
