Australian indie-folksters Frente! released this very different take on a New Order favourite on their 1994 EP Labour Of Love.

Like all the best cover versions, Frente! take the song in a different direction while retaining the spirit of the original.

It’s stripped back to its bare bones with Angie Hart’s vocal – so pure and honest – set against Simon Austin’s simply fingerpicked guitar.
It’s lovely.

The band had a breakthrough record – Marvin The Album – in Australia in the same year, 1994, but broke up four years later after just one more album, Shape.
