It’s not often in the internet age that you can’t find out a single thing about a record, or the people who made it. Until now.
It appears on Wheedle’s Groove, a compilation of old soul and funk rarities from the Seattle area from 1965-75.
All I can tell you is that this excellent slice of psychedelic funk is by Misterholmes & The Brotherhood.
Which is almost as good a name as the track itself, which is – aptly enough – called Thrift Store Find.
Any more than that I cannot tell you…
Except that it was re-released in 2011 as a double-A-side single along with a cover by a more modern Brooklyn-based collective, CSC Funk Band.
That’s pretty great too.
