The Zeros – Hungry / Radio Fun

12th August 2023 · 1970s, 1977, Music, Punk

The Zeros are another of the long-forgotten punk bands from the Class of ’77. This was on the fairly terrible Streets compilation on Beggars Banquet that year.

Originally formed in Walthamstow as a trio by Steve Godfrey, the cousin of Jerry Shirley of Humble Pie, on guitar and vocals, with Phil Gaylor on drums and Steve Cotton on bass.

They released debut single Hungry, backed with Radio Fun, on Small Wonder Records in November 1977, followed by a Peel session, adding second guitarist Paul Miller to the line-up in early 1978.

And that’s about all I know about The Zeros.
