Television – Best Of 2022

24th December 2022 · 2020s, 2022, Film, Books, TV Reviews

Like most of us, I imagine, I spent a lot of time watching the telly over the course of this year. These were my favourites and I think they demonstrate pretty clearly why anyone who wants to “defund the BBC” is an idiot.

The much maligned corporation produced six of the ten best dramas of the year, in my opinion (and I have subscriptions to Sky Atlantic, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount+ and the BFI, so I’m not exactly short of streaming options).

So if anyone’s looking for something to binge over the holidays, these would be my suggestions – along with paying your licence fee.

1.Somewhere Boy (All4)
2.The Offer (Paramount+)
3.Sherwood (BBC1)
4.Tokyo Vice (BBC1)
5.Industry #2 (BBC2)
6.Slow Horses #1 (Apple TV)
7.The Outlaws (BBC1)
8.Better Things #5 (BBC2)
9.The Capture (BBC1)

10.The Ipcress File (ITV)
