The Womack Sisters – You Went Away Too Long

26th February 2026 · 2020s, 2026, Music, Soul

When it comes to musical pedigree, you can’t get deeper than sibling soul trio The Womack Sisters.

The girls are grand-daughters of Sam Cook, nieces of Bobby Womack, and daughters of Cecil and Linda Womack, aka Womack & Womack.

The brightest new stars in the Daptone universe, sisters BG, Zeimani and Kucha team up with producer Bosco Mann on new single You Went Away Too Long.

The song opens with a dark herald of horns, orchestral chimes and percussion groove before shifting to the tender first verse: a melancholy longing from women who haven’t been able to forget.

The mood turns when they launch into a haunting unison chorus dripping with the confidence of three women who refuse to wait too long for their due.

“This song holds a deep meaning that’s different for each of us,” say the Sisters, who describe it as a song about love and life interrupted.

“Imagine precious time stolen from your life, slipping away like sand through an hourglass, as your loved ones slowly forget the sound of your laughter.”

The Womack Sisters are coming here for two London dates in May before heading back home to play amphitheatres across North America and a prestige slot in August at the Hollywood Bowl, opening for Al Green.
